THE ROYAL MILE. EDINBURGH

A look at the famous Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland. From Edinburgh Castle at the top to Holyrood Palace at the foot, there are four streets that make up the Royal Mile and it&at the heart of Edinburgh old town. As the name suggests it&roughly one mile from the top to the bottom, and it&always better to begin at Edinburgh Castle as it&a steady climb if you explore the royal mile in the opposite direction. Much of the historic Royal Mile and the various closes that run off it to the north and south, date back to medieval times and was the main spine of Edinburgh old town. Don&forget to wander into the &of the royal mile too as they&all certainly worth exploring. The Queen just happened to be resident in Holyrood Palace at the time i made this, which is why the kilted scottish soldiers were entering a palace side-gate at the end of the video. There¬ enough room here to add all the interesting and historic places on Edinburgh&Royal Mile, but one of my favourite places is probably the Musem of Childhood, which is situated just across the road from John Knox&house.
