Paul is quoted in 1964, saying that John played the electric guitar riff and George played acoustic guitar on this song. It has caused some controversy but the general consensus is that John used his black Rickenbacker 325/12 Some interesting things you&hear in this song upon close listening- During the solo and at the end of the song there is a Hofner bass overdub (ascending line before the 12-string solo). I thought this might have been George&Gretsch Tennessean, but it&clearly the Hofner. Lots of bass overtones There is also a second electric guitar during the solo that is doubling John&12-string lines I&using my Gibson J45 acoustic (George used his 1962 Gibson J160e). And i&using my Rickenbacker 360/12 Fireglo. If it was George on lead electric, this is the exact guitar he would have played My Gear: 1999 Rickenbacker 360/12v64 (Scatterwound Toaster Pickups) with Curt Mangan Flatwound Strings 1956 Gibson J45 2017 Marcara Music Amps 5E5-A Tweed Pro (15" Weber 15A150 Speaker) Neumann TLM-103 Please check out my other Beatles covers- and hit subscribe! #JohnLennon
