Recently i was looking for ways to create some tools that would ease the life of creators and have been interested in shaders, so i decided to create an auto landscape material inspired by the ones that Megascans use, added some more additional variations to it to reduce repetitiveness then used the built-in functions of unreal to spawn foliage automatically and tweaked with its settings inside the material shader so that grass and trees would spawn only on dirt and the rocky parts of the landscape would only spawn some stones/rocks and also some small shrubs, then i went on to find some real life geo data and created an alpha brush/height map png from it, used that brush to create the landscape in a single click and added the auto material with auto foliage integrated to it, and here is the result, i used megascans textures and assets with high quality to populate the scene, so i had to reduce the draw distance in order to get consistent fps inside the engine, after all that, i added some lights and tweaked some ppv settings and here is how it looks. The whole project took like a day to create, and i used absolutely zero modelling or sculpting to achieve this, everything was made inside the unreal engine with the following steps 1-) Creating the auto material 2-) Using Quixel Bridge to import Megascans assets 3-) Setting up the lighting.
