Modern Concrete House Design That Connects Aesthetics and Nature It is rather unusual to see the rugged textures of raw concrete blend so effortlessly with the untouched landscapes of central Mexico, but Villa ITO has blurred the lines by adding textures, finishes, and details that invite the natural scenery inside the property at ease. The large, open living area greets you when you enter the main building with a double-sided fireplace anchored at the center. It opens up to the living room while the large concrete island separates the kitchen at the far side of the large open space. This entire space then opens up to the backyard through sliding glass doors creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The selection of furniture, fixtures, and rugs, however, is the real design highlight of Villa ITO. With a rather brutalist architectural skin, these loose items soften the interior spaces and provide an organic touch that infuses warmth into the rooms. There are several instances of reclaimed pieces, natural uncut wood and stone objects, and stunning handmade rugs that transform Villa ITO from a cold concrete box into a home. photographer Leandro Bulzzano location San Miguel De Allende, Mexico
