Microsoft Sam and His Fellow TTS Voices 9: Prody Parrot & TextAssist

This is Prody Parrot, a program developed by the now defunct MindMaker, LLC. Prody Parrot is another virtual assistant like BonziBUDDY, but without the Adware/Spyware. What most people don&know is you can actually change the voice of Prody, and even type anything you want into it. The TextAssist installer even installs a Microsoft Speech API 4 version of the Bill voice who plays Doctor Sbaitso, but he is the only option to choose from in the list of voices. You must install Prody Parrot to get the voice functioning properly. Failure in doing so will result in the voice speaking one sentence, showing an error then refusing to speak anymore. In addition to use Prody Parrot you must be running either Windows 95, Windows NT 4, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me or Windows XP. This program does not run on Windows Vista and later. This also means that even though the voice is based on the Microsoft Speech API 4, the program it relies on for Prody Parrot does not work either as Prody Parrot is only meant to be ran on WIndows 9x, NT, 2000 and XP. As such, it cannot be used on a modern operating system like Windows 10. The TextAssist voices are heavily inspired by truvoice, while some of the styles and voice names have been inspired from DecTalk. However, these specific voices were created by MindMaker themselves.
