Two experienced voices: Erika de Castro, an urban planner and community development expert involved in international projects in the areas of metropolitan governance, gender equity, and violence against women in Brazil as well as Canada, and an elected municipal politician, Councillor Barinder Rasode from City of Surrey, British Columbia, each spoke about their work. Then the discussion expanded to include everyone to ask "Where Do We Go from Here?" The panel was part of the Engaging Women, Transforming Cities Conference, held May 30th 2013 in Vancouver BC Canada, bringing together municipal officials, urban designers and planners, and women and girls interested in transforming our cities into places where women are more involved in electoral processes, and municipal governments are responsive to the priorities of women and girls in Canada&urban centres.
