Got this radio off the internet, as still working but with some tuning flaws. The flaws were that the FM tuning voltage stabilizer diode was all over the place, and one of the owners, not knowing how to fix it started playing with the voltage setting pots, messing up in the process the whole FM bad. I&replaced the diode and re-aligned the radio as per the service manual. With a bit of effort I got it to tune up tho about 106 MHz instead of the 104 Where the old band had the limit (in those days, in Germany and other countries in W Europe, the FM went from 88 up to 104 only). This radio has FM mechanical presets. Since the FM band is Varicap diode tuned, all they did for the presets to be possible was to add more potentiometers that adjusted the voltage, then the user can switch between them, and voila, multiple stations. But for this they had to do some trickery, the 7.5 V of the battery is unconverted to about 20 V for the tuning diodes. One of the 12 transistors it has does that job together with a few other components and an itsy bitsy teenie weenie transformer, all of them sitting on a small daughter board. This set is "de luxe" not only because of the presets, but also because you could buy separately a wired remote control that had the FM presets on it, so you could switch stations from a distance. Otherwise internally it is identical to the normal TS 201 version posted before by me. All description for that one stands for this as well. Cosmetically, this set was in...
