How to disassemble and repair a SRAM RED Double-Tap 10 speed road bike shifter. The brake lever is removed and internal shifting mechanism is removed to replace a broken cable drum. The cable drum is the red plastic circular part that holds the end of the shifter cable. After reviewing other references online, I found that some parts are available from SRAM via your local bike shop, but apparently a cable drum cannot be ordered by itself. It is part of the shifter body. The carbon brake lever and carbon shifter paddle can be ordered separately. I found a non working shifter for sale on ebay for parts. If you are going to replace a cable drum like I did, you will probably have to look for a second hand shifter on ebay. While this video is specifically for a SRAM RED shifter, the repair procedures are probably similar with SRAM Force, SRAM Rival, SRAM Apex, etc. I created this video because at the time, I could find no instructions from SRAM or anywhere else showing how to take apart these shifters. If any of this is helpful for you, please like and subscribe. Thanks. More information is available directly from SRAM are their website: --------------------------
