Green Belts for Our Urban Areas

Do you know most of the European countries don’t use antibiotics for cold, flue or cough???? The very reason for such diseases are either polluted air or the polluted environment. Instead of antibiotics, they treat for the route course … which is to provide clean air with natural ventilation, even in urban areas. The main tool to keep the environment clean, with naturally filtered air in those urban areas is the Concept called ‘Green Belts’ Today our topic is ‘Green Belts’ in Urban Areas…. A Green Belt is defined as the forestry belt, which surround the intended area. The London metropolitan is one of the best example of that kind. Or else Green Belts or rather Green corridors can also be planted across the wind direction, so that the air is filtered at every contact with greens on its flow direction. In Sri Lankan context, this could be perpendicular to the North-east and South-west direction. We, in our history with the rich culture and the civilization had this far better. The forest, adjacent to the tank, followed by the paddy field and then the residential. Apart from filtration of the air, it saturates as a breeze along the tank with full of moisture; keeping the humidity level better to suit with the tropical conditions. In comparison with mostly the unorganized constructions in our urban areas nowadays, many of developed countries have their other ideas. As well as they plan the future with that in mind. Moving forward the UK itself has number of busy cities...
