Seisan Kata & Details by Angel Lemus Sensei

Chotoku Kyan learned this kata from the legendary Sokon Matsumura. Kyan did not adopt the Pinan Katas and used Seisan as the primary developmental kata for his new students. Seisan is a long and challenging kata to perform providing the basic fundamentals of Okinawan Karate. A new student would practice Seisan for the first three years of study, gradually using hand weights to develop strength and stamina.
