Red Wing Iron Rangers (8111) - Before and After Conditioning + Mink Oil This represents (3/10/2016). Both boots were super soft and velvety after their conditioning and massaging. The RW&soaked up the conditioner and Mink Oil in it&melted form, within minutes looked almost dry, which is why I continued to apply multiple-gradually lighter passes over it in total of ~5-6 times. WRT color, they did return to their natural color it would appear, maybe a slight difference but not much. I predict that it would definitely change with greater amounts of Mink oil. I¬iced that after conditioning and applying the protective spray repellent, the red wings don&repel water like the Aldos (secretly chippawas I have read) do. Must just be the type of leather or that they don&have mink oil applied as not recommended by the manufacturer. Even the conditioner is a stretch because it is not recommended, but the oil claims it can be substituted by conditioner (which is what I have). I got the protection spray for my Redwings, applied to both the post conditioned (Melted conditioner to resemble oil. After using two coats of the spray about 5 minutes apart, it smelled like hair spray and it dried quick (like hair spray). I think it is hair spray. The leather lost a little bit of it&soft and niceness, even after wearing out which presumably would get the skin moving and soften it up. But nope, this is true with both boots. Currently, I don&think the spray does anything? They scuff just...
