Les furies Have you ever wondered, what if you took Bach&3rd violin partita in E major and the Dies irae Gregorian chant, and put a slightly modern twist to it? The answer to that question is basically this - Ysaÿe&second violin sonata. The first movement has quotes from the Prelude of the Bach partita, and the Dies irae tune recurs many times throughout the whole work. I do admit that going into my 3rd year I was feeling like my skills just weren&where they should&been for my year level. However, this piece represents a bit of a turning point in my violin journey, because once when I performed the first three movements of it, it was quite successful. This is definitely one of the hardest pieces I&played, though, and even this performance still isn&perfect, especially in the last movement.
