Here&a step by step video on changing the oil in a 2006 Rinker 262 with a Mercruiser 6.2 MPI with the Easy Engine Oil Drain System. No more pumping or siphoning, just pull the plug and drain the old oil. Should be similar process for Mercruiser 4.3, 5.7, 5.0 for similar year. Have you ever noticed a small diameter rubber hose with a mini drain plug attached, hanging on your motor or connected to your drain plug? If you have, then you&in luck, that&the Easy Engine Oil Drain System. As you see in the video, our tube hangs on the gear lube reservoir mount but we can also use the drain plug with the "fishing leader" attached to it and then hook the hose to it for easier removal. Not every Mercruiser is equipped with the Easy Engine Oil Drain System however, if your boat has it, this makes life much easier when changing the oil. If you run the engine up to operating temp, this process will take you less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Here is the list of the items necessary to change the oil using the Easy Engine Oil Drain System on a 6.2 MPI Mercruiser sterndrive. 6 - Quarts of Mercruiser/Quicksilver 25W-40 Marine Oil 1 - Quicksilver oil filter item # 35-866340Q03 1 - Oil Filter Wrench 2 - Pliers 1 - Oil catch can 1 - Oil funnel 1 - pole with a hook or a grabber for the oil drain tube Rags or paper towels and preferably another small catch can for the oil filter.
