MikroTik 100% CPU USAGE / Critical Error & Crashing Router FIXED!

The following settings will minimize CPU and RAM usage in MikroTik. Prevent CPU peaking 100% usage on MikroTik hAP lite due to DNS flood/overload Use google DNS instead of router to resolve DNS Also, CPU usage peaks 100% if it looks through all the interfaces during winbox startup Only check WAN to avoid Common problem on MikroTik hAP lite after configuring is 100% CPU load, especially during opening winbox on PC or mobile. Also tends to happen after mikrotik have not been rebooted after several days. Fixed in 3 steps! Limit internet detect to WAN (or just disable all). Disabling peer DNS and NTP on DHCP Client. Disallow DNS remote requests and use google DNS servers. Then reboot mikrotik router, other access points, and switches connected :) Crashes or lag may also be caused by: High speed file transfers between devices connected to router/wlan (layer2) - Use switch and access point for file transfers. Downloads - Limit download speed if this CPU gets high. Too complicated config - use my simple anti lag config! ;) Check out my latest config, download here:
