'61 Burstbuckers vs. Lollar Imperial High Wind

The guitar is a Gibson 2019 &Standard SG. I replaced the stock 61T/61R burstbuckers with Lollar Imperial High Wind pickups. I&recording directly with a Fractal Audio AX8, Deluxe Reverb and Dirty Shirley models. Note that the split coils may be more accurately described as coil "taps" since I&bleeding a portion of the other coil using resistors, 3.3K ohm for the bridge and 2.2K ohm for the neck. After experimenting I&found these values reduce the thin "mosquito" tone often associated with coil splits while retaining a single coil character. In the end, the difference wasn&as big as I might have imagined considering the difference in DC reading and the change from Alnico 5 to Alnico 2 magnets, but the subtle changes I like. I prefer the split sounds, as they are softer and less glassy sounding. They may be more dynamic in their responsiveness to how hard I pick, but that could easily be one of those in-my-head things. There&a little less bass, particularly in the neck pickup. Also, they seem to have a little less highs but a little more presence. Leave a comment on what differences you perceive (if any). Thanks.
