Hey everyone! This week we have an indie hit for you all, "Youth" by Daughter. I show you how to play it on electric guitar, but it&sound fine on an acoustic as well. The capo at the 5th fret is necessary if you want to play along with the original recording, otherwise this lesson should still make sense even if you don&have one.  ► Need help with the basic chords and strumming? My beginner guitar course will help you build a solid foundation one step at a time: ► "Fingerpicking Mastery" covers everything from the most basic motions to the most useful fingerstyle patterns on guitar: ► And don&forget to grab your copy of my free eBook: We start out by show you the chords for the first section. They¬ your standard chords but you&find these in some tunes like "Scar Tissue" "Love Yourself" and a bunch of others, though, so they&still worth memorizing. They&G/B, C, D, and Em. They go along with a very simple fingerpicking pattern that we show you afterwards. The second part of the tune is more strumming-based. It uses just 3 chords: Em, Cmaj7 and Dsus2. Even though the names are a bit funny these are all very simple chords (each of them requiring just 2 fingers to play). The strumming part is a little tricky but as long as you count it out it&be no problem! I hope you enjoy the lesson and I&see you next time! - James ---
