Goalball Explained

Goalball is a unique paralympic sport - it is not adapted from a pre existing game. People often ask how a game of goalball is played, so we decided to put together this video! Subtitles: Goalball was originally a game played exclusively by the visually impaired. Today, it is played by everyone. Goalball is a team sport with 3 on each side. The court is 18 meters long and 9 meters wide with the goal stretching the entire width. All players wear eyeshades which cannot be touched throughout the game. The bells embedded in the ball allows players to track the speed and direction of the ball. The object of the game is to roll the ball into the opponent&goal while opposing players attempt to block the ball with their bodies. Players have 10 seconds to return the ball upon defensive contact. The fast pace and high degree of tactics makes goalball an exhilarating game.
