Tandem walking is very challenging, but very effective. It can help strengthen the muscles in your lower legs and ankles and help you practice coordinated movement while navigating tight places. In conjunction with other exercises this has been shown to help improve balance. Additionally, managing medications, vision health, creating a safe environment, learning how to move about the community safely has been shown to reduce your risk of falls. Every body area is part of a whole system, so remember to treat the WHOLE YOU!
