Two Women Get Arrested for Shoplifting at Walmart Two days in a Row

Report: On January 7th 2023 Officers responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting that just occurred. Upon arrival, Officer met with a Walmart loss prevention employee. Walmart Employee told Officer two females identified as lyana Hernandez and Alexi Walker were caught shoplifting at the self-checkout line prior to police arrival. Walmart Employee stated lyana and Alexi were at the self-checkout line scanning certain items. Beth showed me video footage of the items lyana handed Alexi which were not paid for. The items were a Kool-Aid Juice pack, a Kool-Aid Cherry Juice, a pack of Gushers fruit snack box, a welch fruit snack box, a welch six pack, and a bag of French fries. The items were worth $21.99 in total. A Walmart employee provided me with a receipt for the items that were not purchased. Walmart recovered all of the non-purchased items. lyana and Alexi both told me they thought the items were paid for. Walmart Employee did want to press charges and also bar both subjects from Walmart. Officer learned from Walmart Employee that both subjects were also involved in a theft at Walmart that occurred on Jan 4th 2023, Walmart Employee told officers she would speak with a detective once she had more information in regards to the theft. The subjects did not qualify for the PAD diversion because they were involved in shoplifting in the past.
