2014 Chevy cruze 1.4 turbo - P0299 - no boost

Diagnosing a p0299 code on a 2014 chevy cruze 1.4 turbo... I saw a lot of people blaming the turbo but before I just to that conclusion I did a bit of diagnosis for this owner. Turns out the issue was very easy to track down. Wastegate was not activating correctly causing it to stick open and not build boost pressure. Diagnosis was difficult at first because the car also had unrelated codes due to what I later tracked down to be a failed intake manifold check valve. I was able to free up the wastegate flap with some wd40 and working it back and forth. The intake manifold also had to be replaced along with the valve cover. The failed check valve was allowing excess vacumm to destroy the pcv valve built into the valve cover. Fun times! But I was able to get the car running for this owner for very little cost compared to what a dealer wouldve charged!
