When I start the car and I shift, the engine makes a sound like a metallic whiplash. The sound comes from the engine, therefore is better audible from outside, a clear metallic sound. The previous model was Note E11 with a 4 cylinders, and it had not this problem at all. This is Note E 12 with a new 3 cylinder 1.200CC engine, then so many vehicles are having the same issue that becomes a little badder time passing by. Here in Japan I went to Nissan several times, and now they are aware very well about this problem which I started to complain a month after I bought another new N. Note, at the time they did not know what to say anything and they opened a ticket to Nissan HQ. Two weeks later they emailed me telling to do a strange shift lever sequence before when parking, but it was just a waste of time. Then the problem appears on any parking condition, not only on tilted surfaces, not all the times; the problem consist on much hard to release the shift parking lever, sometime with a huge engine side metallic slash sound. Later I founded out that the engine parking release that you move with the shift lever is connected with the "brake pressure. Therefore if the shift lever is harder, then leave it, and you push the brakes several times, and then stop the brake pedal almost at half way this way... Try again the shift lever and it may return again to soft shift P---R-P-D-L.!!! At the end, when the problem happens it is supposed to be as if the engine is off, then you need to...
