Corrie ten Boom was the youngest in a family of six. She was born in Amsterdam, April 15, 1892. Her mother died when Corrie was a young woman. Her brother, Willem, and her sister, Nollie, both married. Corrie lived with her father, Caspar, and her sister Betsie, the oldest of the ten Boom children. Corrie and her father were both watchmakers in Haarlem, Holland. After Hitler conquered the Netherlands in 1940, the ten Boom family hid Jews in a secret room that was built in Corrie&bedroom. Corrie, Betsie, and Caspar were arrested in 1944. Caspar died in prison and Betsie died in a German concentration camp. Despite the unimaginable evil they witnessed, the ten Boom family clung to Jesus, trusting in Him no matter what the circumstances. After Corrie was released in 1944, she spent the remainder of her life telling people of the power of God&love, His forgiveness, and the hope that is in Jesus Christ.
