This used to require a bit of work to duck in Audition and now it is super easy and awesome! Now, Adobe Audition CC 2018 has auto-ducking meaning you tell Audition what signals you want reduced and when and Audition will take care of the rest. Steps: Create New Multi-track (cmd + n) One Track Dialogue One Track Music Select Dialogue Track. In Essential Panel click Dialog to Assign the track. Select Music and assign Music. With Music clip selected, tick the box in Essential Sound that says Ducking In the Menu just below, choose Dialogue so music will duck against dialogue (you can choose multiple) The music track will now automatically lower in volume whenever there is a clip that has dialogue assigned to it is playing. Move the dialogue track around and the music track will adjust automatically. Like magic. There are settings to tweak how the auto-ducking works.
