Il Silenzio - Nini Rosso/Guglielmo Brazza

Romantic melody, based upon a Neopolitan Cavalry call from late 1800's. I have linked the Roland to the Yamaha keyboard via the midi foot-switch (the Roland is not a midi accordion). The voice and rhythm are from the keyboard, triggered by actually playing the accordion piano keys and bass side and the volume is controlled by the pressure sensitive bellows of the accordion. 2 foot-switches are used: one to bring in/take out the trumpet harmony and one to fade out at the end. A little information, sourced from the internet: "Il Solenzio" is very often mistakenly called by 2 different names -- "Taps" & "The Last Post", both of which are completely separate compositions. "Taps" is a variation of an early (1835-1860) bugle call called Scotts Tattoo. The "modern" version of Taps, as played by the forces of USA, is said to have been composed by Union General Dan Butterfield in 1862 on the battlefields. It lasts for 8 bars only.
