Suzuki DF30 ATS on Waterland 550

After many months of restoration, the boat is finally ready for testing! The inside still needs a lot of work, but since the season&almost over, we didn&want to wait any longer. Most videos on Youtube about this engine show it behind a much smaller boat. (14 foot fishing boats tops). So it was a big question how it would perform on a much heavier boat (5.50m / ~19 ft long). And it turned out great! Most of the footage shows it with 2 adults and 2 small children on board. I understand that in the USA, great fishing spots can be really far away, so a 30 HP engine on a relatively tiny boat makes sense. In The Netherlands, with much smaller water masses, this would be regarded as waaaay overpowered. Even for a boat like this, most folks drive it with 15HP four stroke. In the past, we had a 20HP Johnson 2-stroke on this boat, with stern-mounted steering, manual start, and - unfortunately - a long shaft model, which was, unbeknownst to us as the time, completely wrong.
