Дом, который вызывает восторг
Here we go with getting the 1.8t Audi TT head back onto the upgraded block using the Victor Reinz head gasket kit and also doing the dreaded 1.8t timing belt service using a Gates comprehensive kit. Believe it or not the easiest part is installing the head. Bang it on and bolt it down - done! The rest is what’s annoying - even on an engine stand! The main issue is the hydraulic tensioner setup where there’s not enough slack on the belt for easy installation. Using the manual tensioner setup (more info below) helps mitigate this problem. In reality I re-did the timing belt 8 times before getting it right - I wasn’t going to bore you with all the attempts but trust me it was frustrating.I didn’t want to undo the cam chain tensioner setup without the proper tool so sealing the engine up will have to wait for another time but at least there are MANY other things I can bolt on in the meantime (I was also thinking to install the turbo but I started to get really hungry!) I’m so glad to be WELL past the halfway point and rebuilding instead of tearing apart!Hope this video helps you understand doing this job for the Audi TT or any other engine with the 1.8t 20 valve engine. ?
