In this video I&making a custom bolt with a thread on each end. One of the thread is a regular M16 thread and the other one is a left-hand M16 thread. In the center there&a 24mm hexagon. This part is used to adjust the distance between two parts which are used for a foot pedal on a machine. As both threads are pretty big to cut with dies I decided to turn them on the lathe. I was lucky that I was able to loan both thread gauge rings from a local company. This made the thread turning to the correct size a lot easier. For rust protection I decided to do hot bluing on the bolt. On the two blue parts I only had to recut the threads. I hope you like my work and the video.
