ON THE BENCH - Tiger II - King Tiger - Italeri - 1:72 - Scale model kit - SCALE BENCH

My personal conclusion to this kit and construction is that the Italeri King Tiger is a pretty simple but ok kit ... building was easy and without any bad experiences. Painting the model was a challenge as it is my first 1:72 scale tank. All in all, I am surprisingly satisfied with this build and find building on this scale pretty fun ... The final official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B, often shortened to Tiger B. The ordnance inventory designation was Sd.Kfz. 182. It is also known under the informal name Königstiger (the German name for the Bengal tiger), often translated literally as Royal Tiger, or somewhat incorrectly as King Tiger by Allied soldiers, especially by American forces. The Tiger II was the successor to the Tiger I, combining the latter&thick armour with the armour sloping used on the Panther medium tank.
