Before Roy created the machine to manage the Teachers, he preformed an experiment on Paige, transferring her consciousness into a sketchbook he designed for the show. This explains why he has a random operating room (seen in episode 5), why she has hair even tho she’s a sketchbook and why she doesn’t appear when Red Guy is messing with the machine.
