Imperanon - Memories Turn to Dust Lyrics - Melodic Death Metal Thursday

Best Part: 1:05 to 2:03 - Score: 8,1/10 Imperanon was a very promising young band back in the beginning of the new millenium, they released in 2004 a great album of Melodic Death Metal called "Stained". Unfortunately, they disbanded 3 years after their first and only album. Yes they are from Finland and their sound was similar to their compatriots Children of Bodom and Kalmah but they have a certain originality in the songwriting, the record was well balanced especially for a debut effort. Take a look at a song like Hollow Man featuring Pasi Rantanen of Thunderstone, you&see. The song I cover here though is "Memories Turn to Dust". A very melodic track filled with virtuocity on guitar. The lead guitar is awesome and reminds me a lot "Follow the Reaper" from country mate COB. The twin guitars work of Aleksi and Lauri is excellent, there&always an interesting guitar lead all across the song. The rest of the band is just doing the right thing to make the whole package coherent without stealing any attention. The voice of Aleksi is typical MDM scream from a Scandinavian band of the genre at the time, efficient enough to enjoy.
