Erik Satie - Gnossienne no. 1 Piano cover / synthesia piano tutorial #lent Éric Alfred Leslie Satie (1866 – 1925), better known as Erik Satie, was a French pianist and composer in the classical era. Although his compositions like Les Gymnopédies and Les Gnossiennes are famous, Satie’s name is less known. However, he was a great influencer in the 19th and 20th century. Great composers like Debussy and Ravel were influenced by his work. Erik Satie composed music his own way, against the ‘rules’ of that time. Les Gnossiennes lacked virtuosic complexity and can better be described as minimalistic. I think Satie’s compositions are beautiful and have magical feeling to it.
