During the course of their studies, their professors Prof. Konrad Hünteler (flute) and Prof. Reinbert Evers (Guitar) recommended that they form a duo; they followed their professors’ advice, got together, having their first Recital at the school’s concert hall. Following that, the two performers took advantage of opportunities to play at the "Musik von Bach"(Bach Music Festival) and the "Musik unsere Zeit" (Contemporary Music Festival) in Münster, as well as the "Memorial Luciano Berio", thrilling the audience with their delicate but passionate playing. Lim and Shim returned to Korea in 2005 and immediately started performing, staging four different Recitals "from Renassance to Contemporary Music”, “Bach works for Flute and Guitar”, “Classical Music for Flute and Guitar”, and “Buenos Aires Tango.” Once again audiences were thrilled by the duo’s unique deftness in playing a variety of music as well as their on-stage chemistry.
