How to Fix Lexus RX330 Shifter Cable Bushing

On many vehicles, the shifter cable end bushing wears out and this causes the gear shift lever to malfunction. Symptoms can include no-crank/no-start, car rolling in Park, or car not moving in Drive. A simple repair for this issue is to replace the cable end bushing. The vehicle in this video is a Lexus RX330, but this same issue occurs on many other Toyota/Lexus vehicles like Highlander or Sienna or Corolla, and it also occurs on many other makes including Ford, Mazda, NIssan, and others. Replacement bushings for many vehicles are available on ebay, search for "Bushing Fix." This avoids having to replace the entire shifter cable.
