Phillip Sear plays an 1865 piece - &a nice evening! - by the Viennese pianist and composer Julius Hardegg (1834-67) - writing as Jules Egghard. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Jules Egghard" is a rather obvious pseudonym used by the Viennese pianist and composer Count Julius Hardegg (1834-67). He studied piano (as did Liszt) with Carl Czerny, and one of his most notable achievements as a pianist would surely have been the premiere performance - as a teenager - in Weimar in 1851 of Liszt&piano and orchestra reworking of Schubert&&Fantasy&under the baton of Joseph Hellmesberger. His salon pieces were once very popular. My thumbnail shows a detail from a 2018 photo &Blésoise B&by Angelo Brathot ( from t.ly/yfSa ). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear
