Its very purpose is to eliminate the inconsistencies of human error in performance stabilizing tempos, correcting counting mistakes, standardizing intonation; it substitutes flexibility with precision. METRONOMICON explores the expressive potential of the metronome as a musical instrument, using the metronome, tuner, and programming functions of the Doctor Beat DB-88. The performers shape the sound by manipulating pitch, calibration, and volume.
