Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad have introduced many incredible villains over the years. Lalo Salamanca is a latecomer to the origin story of Saul Goodman. HIs first appearance doesn’t happen until the eight episode of season 4. He comes to Albuquerque to help with the Salamanca family business which has experienced some setbacks. After Tuco Salamanca was sent to prison, and Hector Salamanca had a stroke, the family needed someone to take over their operations in New Mexico. Going into the Better Call Saul season 5 finale Lalo finds himself forced to go back to Mexico. After employing Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill as his lawyer he made trouble for Gus Fring, but that backfired when he ended up in jail. Jimmy was able to help get him out, but now he has to jump bail. Before he left he met Jimmy’s wife Kim Wexler, and both sides of the Better Call Saul story have now officially come together. Saul Goodman mentioned Lalo’s name in Breaking Bad season 2. While he was never mentioned again Gus Fring implied that he was dead when talking to Hector Salamanca in season 4. Since Lalo appeared in Better Call Saul he has proved himself as a worthy adversary to Gus. He has also turned out to be uniquely suited to be an adversary for Jimmy McGill in that he is much more charming and cunning than the other Salamancas we’ve met. This video about Lalo Salamanca explains everything about the character including his history that we know about. Tell us in the comments what you think might...
