Sack Full of Dreams - Gitte Haenning

I wasn&familiar at all with this singer until a couple years ago. She is from Denmark but moved to Sweden at a young age. She was mostly known for doing popular music both in Swedish and in English. Her appearance in a jazz context here is atypical but she is fabulous on this recording with the Boland-Clarke band who accompany her with Boland&smooth arrangement of this lovely tune written by Gary McFarland. From the CD "Gitte Haenning Meets the Francy Boland-Kenny Clarke Big Band". Clarke plays drums and Boland plays piano in the band. Recorded September 1968. Originally issued as "Gitte - My Kind Of World". I don&know the original label but reissued here on the Bureau label.
