Track 5 from their fourth album "Down to Earth" released in 1979 copyright Polydor Records. It was recorded at Chateau Pelly de Cornfeld in France and Kingdom Sound Studios on Long Island. It was their first produced by Deep Purple bassist and experienced producer Roger Glover, who replaced Bob Daisley on bass. Scottish musician Jack Green from Pretty Things was initially hired as the bassist for the album but things didn&work out and Glover took the role. He also wrote the lyrics for all of Blackmore&songs. Don Airey replaced David Stone on keyboards and Glover recruited English vocalist Graham Bonnet, who had the impossible task of trying to fill Ronnie James Dio&shoes. Like Dio, he was a powerful vocalist and did an admirable job. Blackmore had also considered approaching his former Deep Purple bandmate Ian Gillan or Peter Goalby of Trapeze to become their lead vocalist. Unfortunately, it was the last album to feature drummer Cozy Powell. The hit "Since You Been Gone" was written by prolific songwriter Russ Ballard, the former vocalist and guitarist for Argent. It reached No. 6 in the U.K. but only No. 57 on the Billboard chart. In an interview with Sounds in 1979, Blackmore said, "I have so much respect for classical musicians that when I listen to myself I think, oh, that&nonsense. I can put down other people&music because the fact is I put down my own music and say it&rubbish. A lot of it is but not all of it. "No Time to Lose" definitely is but "Eyes of the World" is...
