How to remove Radio - BMW X5 (e53) 1999 - 2006 or BMW 5 series (e39)

This is how to remove the BMW X5 e53 radio (1999-2006) and BMW 5 series e39 You need a Torx (star) T10 screw driver: - Pull the volume knob off - Insert screwdriver into little slot under the volume pot shaft - Turn driver counterclockwise (left) FOR ONLY 1/4 OF A TURN (about 90 degrees) - Open the CD compartment lid above it so it¬ on the way - Pull unit off from the left side (use a small screwdriver to help if necessary) To insert it back in: - Open the CD compartment lid above it so it¬ on the way - Turn driver clockwise (right) FOR ONLY 1/4 OF A TURN so the left tab is sticking out - Push unit STRAIGHT into place
