Dragon Age: Inquisition - Trespasser - Rift Mage Solo Saarath Stage 2 - NM/All Trials

Solo Rift Mage vs Saarath - Nightmare + Friendly Fire + All Trials This fight is much tougher than the first stage. I switched out veilstrike for aegis of the rift (in the whole DLC, I only ended up using the aegis in 3 fights, veilstrike is generally much more useful), and brought fire and spirit resistance tonics. I wasn&expecting the pride demon to kill me with one hit like that, thankfully heal on hit via energy barrage is good for self-resurrection. I swapped veilstrike for aegis of the rift for the demon rooms and this fight. Gear: Crafted Skin that Stalks armour and Encore staff (cold damage), aiming for 50-60% crit chance, the rest in crit damage/attack. For masterworks, I used walking bomb and heal on hit. I&take a second staff with fire damage for certain fights; if you have the inferno pact belt (I couldn&find mine) then you can cause some crazy damage. The problem in Trespasser is that the Qunari are the worst enemies for a rift mage since they have so many fire and cold immunities, and taking a fire staff with this build will leave you with only stonefist to damage enemies sometimes.... That sucks. Enhanced Winter pact belt (hence the cold staff) Ring of Doubt Superb critical damage ring (this can be replaced by the hand that cuts in Trespasser) Master cooldown amulet I feel sorry for Saarath; according to his codex entry, he was a philosopher and teacher, until his magic manifested and he was forced to become a saarebas.
