Футуристические инновации: обзоры и перспективы
In this video you can listen to the sound of the famous QUAD ESL-63 electrostatic loudspeakers against the direct sound of the media player. I captured the sound of the loudspeakers with a pair of Neumann KM 184 small diaphragm studio condenser mics and simultaneously recorded the original output signal of the media player. Via automated toggling between the two signals you can compare both sounds. As I located the two mics fairly close to the surface of my studio desk pointing towards the QUADs, some reflections were also picked up and created comb filtering in the high end. Note that this effect is not perceivable under normal listening conditions sitting in the sweet spot of my studio&control room and I think one can still sense how close the QUADs come to the sound of the original file in terms of reaction speed/impulse fidelity, dynamic, neutrality, low-end warmth and spaciousness. I&aware that this test is rather a fun project and in no way scientific! If you ever get the chance to listen to these loudspeakers, you will get infected by their glorious sonic capabilities - SERIOUSLY! In some articles, people are complaining about their alleged lack of deep bass response. Well, there certainly are loudspeakers that have a more extended bass response but the bass you are presented by the QUADs is so nice and realistic down to below 40 Hz that you are not really feeling to be missing a lot.
