RC Drift Car: MST MS-01D RTR converted to RWD with maximum steering angle of 74°, upper weighted and weight balance of 58% toward rear. Body: Mitsubishi Evo X with wide wing Setup RWD Front camber -12° toe-out 10° @ neutral position, measure by improvised protector. Rear camber 0°° (to allow flat part of tire to fully contact the ground for maximum grip) with toe-in of 0-1° visual estimate only Front Caster 10° laid back With front lower swing arm at the further backward position. Rear Caster 10° With rear lower swing arm at the further front position. Maximum steering angles: Leading wheel 74°, trailing wheel 50° (low grip due to weight shift up) which is achievable with higher negative camber at neutral position. Steering knuckles Use the inner holes for both top and bottom side to connect the upper and lower swing arm. This together with the higher caster angle will give more steering angle for leading wheel. But note that too much caster leaning will cause the leading wheel to get stuck at full lock. Tighten the toe adjustment bar till it holds the wheel steady at full lock. This is why I ended up with 9° toe out and Caster 10° for the front. But that ok for drifting. Battery mount position Moved higher and all the way back (see video on mounting). This will allow weight to shift to the opposite side of the turn which towards to counter-steered wheel during a drift. The height of the battery tray stands about 42mm above the chassis plate and change...
