Part 2 of breath hold practice demo! My first breath holds in over 8 months, following a year of Influenza A, Secondary Pneumonia, and [suspected] Coronavirus. In this video I will do a short demo on breath-ups. I&cut out the "repeat" segment of the breathe-ups to shorten the video time. - Breathe in fully, hold for a count of two, filling your lungs to capacity, but also to comfort level - Hold it for a count of two - Slow, complete exhale for a count of ten, as empty as you can get while still remaining in rhythm. - Repeat this 3-part sequence for 2x the amount of time as your breath hold goal. - 4 purge breaths, which are rapid and forceful. Not focusing on full exhalation, but rather forceful exhalation. - Breathe normally for [at least] ten seconds. - Peak inhalation and hold your breath. - After you exhale (naturally), take three recovery breaths, which should come naturally as rapid inhalations and exhalations before resuming normal breathing and flashing the "OK" sign to your spotter. - Repeat the entire hold 3x, with the 3rd hold being your longest goal! As always, I encourage everyone who practices these techniques to actually pursue PFI certification, and ALWAYS practice with a trained, certified buddy!
