Evolution of Lego Racing Games (1999 - 2023) - From Lego Racers to Lego 2K Drive

Lego is an extremely popular toy brand and there have also been a large number of Lego video games over the years. However, only a rather small number of them were racing games. Here you can see the most notable Lego racing games and expansions from the original Lego Racers in 1999 to the brand new Lego 2K Drive that was just released. Timeline: 0:00 Lego Racers (PS1, 1999) 1:02 Lego Racers 2 (PS2, 2001) 2:12 Drome Racers (PS2, 2002) 3:10 Forza Horizon 4 - Lego Speed Champions (PC, 2019) 4:54 Lego 2K Drive (PS5, 2023) The original Lego Racers from 1999 is relatively well known and it came out for various platforms like PS1, N64 and PC. Lego Racers 2 and Drome Racers are games that I was personally not aware of before researching for this video. Unfortunately they are also not very compatible with the PS2 emulator, so I can only show them with poor graphics here. After many years without major Lego racing content in video games we got the Lego Speed Champions expansion for Forza Horizon 4, featuring an open world Lego map and also Lego versions of several real cars like the McLaren Senna, Ferrari F40 and Bugatti Chiron. This week we are getting Lego 2K Drive, which is an open world racing game that is completely about Lego racing. I have only played around an hour of it so far but the first impression is not bad and I will probably show more of it on my channel over the coming days.
