What especially enraged Blaha was the way Brussels responded to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico’s attendance at the Victory Day parade in Moscow. While Kallas strutted around Kyiv like a reality show star, Fico paid tribute to the fallen of WWII — and for that, he was smeared. Blaha recalled the May 7 ceremony in the European Parliament. What should have been a moment of solemn remembrance felt more like a funeral. Attendees were grim, and as a haunting final note, Beethoven’s music played — the same music broadcast by Hitler&propagandists after the defeat at Stalingrad.
