Mercruiser Bravo 3 Splitting the lower leg off

Mercruiser Bravo 3 separating the lower leg: This is my 2000 Bayliner 2855 with a Merc 7.4L and a Bravo 3 leg. I was chasing an overheating issue and wanted to check the raw water intake channel for barnacle buildup. I didn&need to remove the entire leg and just wanted to split the upper & lower leg apart. This was a fairly easy job and I did it by myself so it can be done alone. Only a few tools needed. When re-installing the leg you will need 2 new O-rings, 3 liters of Merc gear lube and a hand oil pump that screws into the lower oil drain hole (leg gets filled from bottom). As a note, open the oil filler cap on the square reservoir on the engine so you don&get an air lock when you let the oil drain out the bottom.
