How to update bios on sony vaio laptop

I got a laptop of sony vaio brand. I will show you how did I upgraded its firmware (uefi bios). Its vaio care application is strange. I cannot got to settings menu immediately. Instead, I should turn on a laptop with assist button, then press f2 to enter uefi settings. I do not know if this is normal for sony laptops. Also, it refused to boot from an external device (usb stick) even when I set needed priority in settings. To do this I also needed to use assist button, then f11. Yeah... strange solution.
