Phillip Sear plays &man&buff&- the sixth of 12 &from 1921 by the Italian pianist and composer Ettore Pozzoli (1873-1957). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ettore Pozzoli (1873-1957) studied at the Milan conservatory, where he later taught. He is best-known for piano studies and theoretical textbooks, which are still used in Italy today. There is a piano competition named after him that takes place every two years in Seregno, where he was born and died. The winner of the first competition (1959) was the great Maurizio Pollini. "Blind man&buff&is played in a spacious area, such as outdoors or in a large room, in which one player, designated as "It", is blindfolded and gropes around attempting to touch the other players without being able to see them, while the other players scatter and try to avoid the person who is "it", hiding in plain sight and sometimes teasing them to influence them to change direction." My thumbnail shows a detail from &Man&Buff&by the English artist Alexander Hohenlohe Burr (1837-99). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear
