Would you believe me when I tell you I own no rights for the song? "Love Buzz" is an original tune by Dutch rock band Shocking Blue from their 1969 album "At Home". It&a-side of the first Nirvana single which, in turn was the first release of the Sub Pop Singles club series. Also, it&was the last song from "Bleach" I had to cover, the album is done now. You can find all the songs from it in the "Bleach" playlist on the channel. The end is near. It was Krist who convinced Kurt to cover this song. Krist is a fan of Shocking Blue bassist Klaasje van der Wal and had once called him a bass god. Nirvana had been playing "Love Buzz" since the band&earliest days. It was played and recorded during their radio session for KAOS FM in May 1987. This version wasn&officially released. In summer 1988 Nirvana entered Reciprocal studio to record their debut single for Sub Pop with Jack Endino. Kurt preferred to have an original song for the first release but Jonathan Poneman, one of the Sub Pop bosses, proposed "Love Buzz" and Kurt eventually agreed. So, that session is known as the "Love Buzz" session. Three takes of "Love Buzz" were recorded and the second of them turned out to be the best. Poneman asked Endino to ask Kurt to re-record vocals which Kurt did. The single version has a 10-second audio collage as an intro.
