2005 Ford Excursion Running Board Lift

The depicted running board lift was fabricated by Startracks Custom Vehicles, and custom-fitted to a 2005 Ford Excursion Running Board Lift. The man in the video is an Air Force Veteran who is 6 ft 7 inches tall and weighs around 500 pounds. The Veterans Administration funded the fabrication of this lift and its installation. The lift can be used to gain access to either the front or back door, one person at a time. Running board lifts can be made to fit most trucks, SUVs, and full-size vans. The lift is designed for ambulatory challenged individuals who have difficulty climbing into high-profile vehicles. Or the lift is added as customization to enhance the appeal of the vehicle. The lift operates off the vehicle battery and is controlled by a remote key fob switch. The user simply stands on the running board, activates the switch, and the running board is lowered to the floor. Depressed again, the running board is raised to the floor level of the vehicle.
